Methodology
The AI Penetration Index measures the percentage of non-AI-native job postings that explicitly mention AI skills, tools, or concepts. We exclude AI-native roles (ML Engineer, Data Scientist, etc.) to isolate the spread of AI into traditional functions. The index is computed from active job listings scraped from major job boards. AI mentions are detected by scanning job descriptions for specific terms including "artificial intelligence," "machine learning," "ai-driven," "ai-powered," "genai," "generative ai," "llm," "copilot," and 15+ others.
